What made you venture into the world of wireless sales?
This work allowed me to club my love for technology and sales work. It was a dream come true when I first started working as a wireless sales associate, as I was able to work in the two capacities that I excelled at. Technically, it was a miracle that I found a job that was this appropriate to what my interests were.
What duties exactly have you performed in the role of a wireless sales associate in the past?
As a wireless sales associate, I have been actively involved in providing customers arriving at the store with information on offered wireless services and products, along with helping them choose the right products and services to suit their needs. In addition to this, I have been working with store managers to build store displays, and have also played a key role in marketing the company’s services and products to both existing and new customers.
Tell us of the skills sets that you feel a person working as a wireless sales associate needs to be able to do justice to this job.
I believe that a wireless sales associate needs to be a master of both trades – sales and wireless technology. To be able to club these two means that customers will definitely be provided with the best in services. Also, it is important to know the technology that you are advocating inside out, so that you come across as a professional. Deep understanding of the technological world and awareness of the competition is also imperative. Additionally, one’s customer service skills need to be exceptional if this is the work that one wants to do.
What is the most challenging part of this work?
I believe that selling something to a customer that he or she isn’t actively looking to buy is extremely challenging. This challenge surfaces when you indulge in upselling activities.
How do you overcome this challenge?
The good news is that my upselling skills are finely tuned, often making it seem as if the upselling was in actuality the customer’s idea!
What do you see yourself doing in the next 5 years, professionally speaking?
In the next 5 years, I hope to be heading the sales department in the capacity of a wireless sales director.
