We see that your degree is in business, and you could have chosen to work in many capacities within it. Why did you choose human resources, particularly recruitment?
I believe that one should take up a career in an area that one’s interest is in the most. During the course of my degree, I found myself to be most proficient and interested in the human resources part of it. Over the years, I realized that my true calling was in handling recruitment processes, and strategic implementation of recruitment procedures. And here I am!
What has been your professional journey in the position of a recruiting manager?
I stepped into this work as a recruiting intern 7 years ago, and have since then worked as a recruitment officer, and was promoted to the position of a recruitment manager not too long ago.
What skills set do you have that makes you a great contender to work as a recruiting manager at our organization?
Apart from possessing great insight into recruitment work, and solid experience in overseeing the work of a recruitment team, I am exceptionally well-versed in developing and implementing workable methods and strategies to handle recruiting work. Additionally, my skills in coordinating the various aspect of this work are exceptional. Good communication skills, and a great ability to reach out to different people and organizations also make me an excellent person for this position.
What is the one thing about this work that you find quite difficult?
The work as a whole is quite challenging. However, what I find most challenging is fulfilling the employee retention part of it.
And are you doing anything to overcome this challenge?
I am presently in the process of creating a strategy to ensure that this challenge can be looked into the eye, and conquered. Still at the drawing board with this one, but I am positive that the result will be a success!
What are your 3 year career aspirations?
There is a lot that needs to be learnt about this work. Once I am comfortable with myself where knowledge obtainment is concerned, I hope to climb up the ladder to the position of a recruiting director.
