The love-hate relationship between an applicant and a cover letter is quite an old story! There is always a fight – what to write and how to impress the hiring manager are perhaps the first two concerns we have. Face it – writing a cover letter is important even if you do not personally like writing one! It is needed to ensure that you get your point across to the hiring manager so that he can well, hire you!

Writing a cover letter is far from easy. This is especially true if you are writing one for the very first team. Would it help if you found out that writing the 100th cover letter is almost as difficult as the 1st one? Well, it is!

A cover letter for entry level library assistant position needs all your love and attention if you want to make it work. The challenge is not in the format of the letter, but how you word it. Words are powerful tools that can be used to offend or convince an employer that you are worth every cent that he will spend in training you for a job. Make your cover letter worth his or her while. Hiring Manager
Costa Public Library

Dear Mr. Mc Naught:

As a summer volunteer at the Sparta Public Library, I have gained exposure to the inner workings of how a largescale library works. This coupled with my interest in information, specifically books and periodicals, makes me an excellent contender to work as a library assistant at Costa Public Library. Having recently graduated from high school, I possess a fresh outlook on how clerical and administrative work needs to be managed, with special focus on gelling it with library resources.

During the 2 months that I spent as a library volunteer, I managed to reorganize the children’s books section, and also held 3 reading sessions with young adults. My knowledge of organizing library resources and assisting patrons with their research work is quite well-placed. As part of your library, you will find me to be immediately contributory and exceptionally organized.

If your schedule allows, I would like to meet with you in person and take this discussion forward. I will contact you on Monday to see if this is possible. Should you need to reach me, you can do so by calling at (000) 777-7777.

Sincerely,
