Auto parts delivery drivers work for companies that sell spare or additional parts for automobiles. Their work is multifaceted as they are required to drive delivery trucks or vans to deliver auto parts to customers and pick out the orders that they deliver. • Study work orders to determine which auto parts need to be pulled
• Locate needed auto parts from the warehouse / storage area and pull them out
• Check each pulled part for damages and conformity to work orders
• Transport parts to the delivery pallet by physically carrying them and pack them properly and safely
• Ascertain that all pulled parts are labeled properly with pricing, specifications and batch number information
• Load auto parts into delivery vehicle (truck or van depending on size of delivery) and ensure that they are properly and safely stacked
• Chart out shortest and safest possible route to destinations by using maps and the GPS
• Drive delivery vehicle to the destination by ensuring that right speed limit is adhered to
• Deliver auto parts to customers and ensure that they check them for accuracy
• Take cash and check payments and give receipts
• Maintain distribution and delivery logs and communicate statuses of deliveries to the company
• Perform preventative and general maintenance such as fluid check and tire pressure on a regular basis
